The research aimed to study the cover threshold in the novel "My Seven Fears" by the Bosnian writer (Slaviden Avdic). The novel clearly dealt with the impact of the war on Bosnia and Herzegovina, specifically the city of Sarajevo, and what reinforced this was that the novel was one of the few novels that focused on the psychological aspect of the war and the exaggeration in killing with or without reason which formed the psychological conflict. Objective: The main reason for choosing the cover threshold was the prominent role it plays in revealing the connotations of the novel; through it we can quickly enter the text, and reach the ideas it presents before we read it. Methodology: The research was based on the semiotic approach that deals with the sign, symbol and image to stand on the cover threshold, which enables it to be interrogated; thus, revealing the content of the text helps in understanding it and exploring its connotations, in addition to the tools of the psychological approach to link the psychological connotations of the cover to the content of the novel. Results: The cover threshold revealed that there is a clear relationship between the cover and the text it is wrapped in. It had a role in introducing the reader to the general atmosphere of the novel before reading it by raising preliminary questions in the mind of the recipient of the novel, the answers to which he finds in the text of the novel.
